| I'm in Miami, Florida and the soil here always has some amount of sandy grit in it. Clubs wind up with the sole being taken down from a chrome finish to a satin look pretty quickly. It doesn't mean the club isn't holding up to the rigors of normal play.
I think anything you buy these days is going to be "durable" unless you have something in mind you didn't mention.
