| I posted a message just a few days ago similar to yours. I'm looking for clubs in that price range and my scores are also in the 80's. I have found that the Taylor Made rac OS 2 irons are right at $400 most places, and in 100's of reviews I've read over the past couple days, they are highly recommended.
Very forgiving, improved scores, and a nice solid feel to them according to the majority of reviewers.
I'm planning on picking up a set tomorrow with steel shafts. (If you're looking for graphite, they're on sale at golfsmith for only $500) I think at this point in my game I'm looking for more control rather than the extra distance I could gain from graphites.
