That is what he was refering to.
What I was saying, is that not face groove or materail ( with one exception) will help the ball stop from hopping. Most putters on the market that "get the ball rolling" faster have 2 degrees of loft.
I brought up wanting the ball to hop a tad, because there is a common misconception out there that you want your ball to have zero skid after impact. The ball must hop a little and un-fortunatally that creates skid. A minor amount of skid is the lesser of the two evils.
More important than face millings, face grooves, material, etc. is a putter that fits you properly. That will keep the ball from hopping excessivly.
