What is the most important part? I assure you that if face grooves and such helped; every tour pro would have a putter that has it. Ping and Scotty Cameron have both went on record saying that all of the face grooves and such do not work on the course. Most of the tests using C-Groove and others like it are done on a perfectly flat surface with a five foot putt. Ping has more R&D than most other companies put together and Solheim said something to the tune of: if face grooves and inserts worked we would use them. A podcast that I listened to with Scotty said the same thing. He then said that the magic number is four degrees of loft. All the best putters are using putters with that amount of effective loft.
