Kapolei, HI (Sports Network) - Paula Creamer birdied her final three holes Saturday, and four of the last five overall, to walk away with the title at the Fields Open in Hawaii.
Creamer closed with a six-under 66 to complete her fifth win at 16-under-par 200, which set a new scoring record.
Her total of 200 was two strokes better than the old mark of 202, which Meena Lee and Seon Hwa Lee set in 2006, then Stacy Prammanasudh tied last year. Creamer also won for the second time in Hawaii.
"It was a good day out there," stated Creamer, who collected $195,000 for the win. "A lot of good players were going low, that's what you can do on this golf course and that's what you had to do to win."
Jeong Jang, who led after each of the first two rounds, closed with a three- under 69 to take second at minus-15. She drops to 1-4 when holding the 36-hole lead, with her only win at the 2005 Women's British Open.
