PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida (AFP) — Englishman Luke Donald and Aussie Matt Jones are part of a trio tied for the lead after Saturday's third round of the 5.5 million dollar PGA Honda Classic.
Donald, Jones and American veteran Mark Calcavecchia were all at six-under-par 204 and had a one-shot lead over Argentina's Jose Coceres (68) and England's Brian Davis (73).
Davis, who is seeking his first US PGA title, was four shots clear of the field at one point before falling back after finding trouble late in the round.
First-round leader Donald shot a 66 Saturday in a bogey-free round that included four birdies. Donald, who opened the tournament with a six-under 64 on Thursday got back to the top of the leaderboard after a second round marred by a quadruple-bogey on Friday.
"I was a little bit disappointed yesterday," admitted Donald, whose third round included four birdies with no bogeys. "I had one really bad hole on 14. You know, it was nice to bounce back and play very solid today."
