Goggin, Moore share early lead at Byron Nelson Championship

Matthew Goggin and Ryan Moore shot 3-under-par 67s to take the lead late in the first round of the wind-blown EDS Byron Nelson Championship at the newly redesigned TPC Four Seasons at Las Colinas.

Eric Axley was also at 3-under through 15 holes.

Jesper Parnevik, the 2000 Nelson champion from Sweden, Kevin Sutherland and Briny Baird were all in the clubhouse at 68.

Scores were high across the board as the field battled a 23-mph wind. South African Trevor Immelman, playing his first competitive round since winning the Masters two weeks ago, finished at 8-over 78, including a triple-bogey 7 at No. 15. Chad Campbell of Colleyville shot 77.

Kevin Streelman gave the early rriving fans something the cheer about, making a hole-in-one at the 198-yard 17th hole. Later, Dean Wilson aced the 174-yard fifth hole.

Despite heavy overnight rains, play began on schedule at 7:15 a.m. Friday's second round also begins at 7:15. The marquee threesome of Justin Leonard, Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia will tee off at 7:44 a.m. from No. 10.
