| Five past champions in 2008 LPGA State Farm field
Defending LPGA State Farm Classic champion Sherri Steinhauer and past winners Pat Hurst (2005), Kate Golden (2001), Michelle McGann (1996) and Nancy Lopez (1980 and 1992) make up the quintet of past champions in the 33rd edition of the annual summer tournament in Springfield, Ill. McGann (35-33=68, -4) heads into Friday's second round leading the veteran champions at 4-under, and is followed by Hurst at 3-under (33-36=69) and Golden at 1-under (35-36=71). Steinhauer and Lopez sit at 3- and 4-over, respectively. |
