After a round of 65 at the Ypsilon Golf Challenge by Alex Cejka moved him to within two shots of the lead held by Rafael Cabrera Bello of Spain, England’s Seve Benson has targeted both his second Challenge Tour title and the Number One Spot in the Rankings.
But the man standing in his way is in sizzling form. Cabrera Bello, who finished tied 11th at last week’s Trophée du Golf Club de Genève, posted seven birdies in a round of 65 at Ypsilon Golf Resort in Liberec, the Czech Republic, to move to 17 under par.
The Spaniard, who also has one Challenge Tour title to his name, said: “I just feel really comfortable out there. I’ve been playing well for the past couple of weeks now, and I’ve carried it on this week. I’m leading, so if I said I didn’t want to win the tournament, then obviously I would be lying – or stupid! But it doesn’t just depend on me, because there are a lot of good players just a couple of shots back. Whoever shoots low tomorrow will probably win. I just hope it’s me.”
