I'd be interested in people's opinion on titanium shafts. I'd like to give one a try, but since I've now finally got a set of clubs together that works pretty well for me, I'm reluctant to switch anything. Still, I'm game to try anything once
I switched to a titanium driver shaft about 12 months ago after many sorties into the graphite field. Guess like most was looking for a few more yards on the right fairway. Well I got straighter but no longer, the experience showed I could have achieved what I got with the titanium shaft by firming up the graphite. Now I am back with graphite in my TaylorMade R5 Neutral but with an Accuflex Pro LD Regular shaft at 57 grams 3.5 torque and mid bend which suits my average 86 mph swingspeed fine. I also switched to Titleist SoLo balls and I am now approx 15/20 yards longer and straighter. At 74 years 'young' my handicap has dropped from 14 to 12 in the few months since the change.
