| Square Drivers Yeah I saw these drivers on TV and they said that they create more inertia because of the increased mass. You can kind of think of inertia as momentum, so this means that the club head will not move faster, but it will strike the ball "heavier" than a standard driver head, causing a greater force (because of the increased mass) and obviously will cause the ball to go farther.
I don't think that air resistance is very significant when you're talking about something as small as the face of a club head. Plus the faces aren't usually completely flat.
As long as they aren't heavier, I can't see how these square drivers will NOT cause greater distance. |
