There are as many responses to this question as there are players. Putters and putting styles are very individual and personalized. What feels right to one player is nothing but a broomstick to another. Sometimes it is the ball one uses or the way the greens are cut, or the type of grass you play on that makes a certain putter feel better than another.
I bought an Odyssey DF992 several years ago in my course clubhouse with "book" money from club tournaments, and I have never considered using anything else since then. This putter feels good in my hands, it seems to strike a harder ball almost the same as it does a Pro V1... I don't see a lot of difference in how hard I have to stroke it for the same distance putt. I like the classic design.... I've never liked the funky look of the 2 ball, 3 ball etc. I've tried but never been able to get a good feel with any sort of mallet headed putter.
So, for me, my Odyssey will stay in my bag till I can no longer play the game. Yesterday I had 12 one putt greens in 18 holes, and only one of those one putts was less than 4 feet. This putter just works for me...
