| Aldila NV and NVS Question? I hit a Ping G2 driver, 8.5 degree, with a green Aldila NV65 S shiff shaft. The ball takes off more like a "line-drive", and usually with just a hint of a fade. Even though I'm very consistent with it, I know I should be looking at a higher loft. Yesterday I played and the pro shop lent me a TaylorMade R7 460 10.5 degree with an Orange Aldila NVS 65R regular shaft. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Every drive I hit launched well into the air and was DEAD STRAIGHT...EVERY DRIVE!!!
I did some reading and am I correct that the NVS shaft is a higher launch shaft than the NV? Also, I have to admit I've been a PING fan forever, so looking through many ads the only 10.5 degree combo for the PING G5 or the PING Rapture I can find is with an Aldila NV65S (stiff) shaft. Is this going to drop the trajectory, and perhaps bring back a slight fade? I've really been working on my game to swing easier, not harder. Maybe a 12 degree PING with a NV65 R regular shaft to compensate for the NVS trajectory? Any thoughts? |
