"I got my "check-go" device yesterday. I can't verify if it actually will help my game. I marked a ball, put it back in the machine (at a different angle) and the line returned to the correct position so it appears to be accurate so far."
Dude, THANK YOU for doing this test! I've always wondered if it would find the same axis when put in at another angle. That makes me think that it might actually help a putt.
However, take a look at the attached illustrations and let me know what you think. (I've pndered this a little too long, but bear with me) I drew a cutaway of a ball whose core is off. And I'm guessing that the core material is heavier than the 'mantle' or cover.
First Image: my thinking is that is where the centerfuge ball marker would lay the line, as the core is at least symmetrical when spinning. But I think the putt would still curve left.
In the next image, I don't think the line would be drawn here, as when it spins, it would wobble a lot, would get unstable, then eventuallly end up spinning as in the first image.
But if it did draw the line as I have it in the second image, the ball would roll fast, then slow, fast then slow, but not wobble. It should roll straight.
What do you think? Could it be possible that the "Check=go" actually ensures that the ball will always roll to one side?
Any thoughts are much appreciated!
