| I wondered about that too. At a guitar forum I participate in, there's a member list alphabatized by screen name with no serious information shown, but you can click on the person's screen name and send them a PM or email. It's just easier than having to find their name in a post somewhere.
One of the other features it has is that at the bottom every day are listed the birthdays for that day.
