Background:
If ever there was a player destined by birth for greatness in the game, it would be Davis Milton Love III (Davis Love the Third) . Love was born right after his own father competed in the 1964 Masters Tournament. Unfortunately, Davis Love II was later killed tragically in a plane crash in 1988. Prior to turning professional in 1985, Love attended the University of North Carolina . From 1983 to 1985, Love won six titles – including the ACC tournament championship (1984). Off the course, Love is involved in course design and often works with his younger brother (also his caddie), Mark Love. To honor his father’s memory, Love published a book in 1997 entitled, “Every Shot I Take”. He and his wife, Robin, have two children and live in St. Simons Island, GA.

Professional Career Bio:
Over the course of his career, Love has won eighteen PGA events, including the 1997 PGA Championship. He first broke the $1 million mark in 1992, when he won three times in five weeks.
He also won the prestigious Players Championship in 1992 and 2003, with the latter bringing four wins and sending him over the $6 million earnings mark in a single year. In 2005, he played twenty four tournaments, with 9 top-ten finishes and 16 money finishes. He is a two-time winner of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and the Players Championship and a five time winner of the MCI Heritage.
As of February 2006 he was fourth on the PGA Tour career money leaders list with earnings of more than $31 million.
