The Sumo 2..well, I didn't like it..I got about as much consistancy as a baseball bat..the square face kept intimidating me..I felt like I was going to screw it up..The FT-i..much better..I liked this club! I guess the square clubs have their place..and I don't think it's going anywhere..but, we'll see. Personally I think the bandaid approach, is a bad idea, and puts a blinder over the bad parts of your game, thus not letting you improve. | I have to dispute one of your comments... you can definitely work the ball with the Callaway... I can. I still have as much trouble as with any other club, but I'm getting so I hit a high draw most of the time... but I can weaken my grip and sometimes make it fade on purpose. I can definitely do it better than I can with any other driver I've owned.

| yeah, but you can shape them, just not as easily. I can just adjust my stance, and get a nice draw or fade, with my driver. I haven't actually tried the FT-i on the course..but the Vector LM I used seemed pretty accurate.

| but i dont think the "bandaid" approach is a bad idea as you said, its the only way for club makers to go, they can't market tour quality clubs to high-handicappers and say "if you hit these enough eventually you will either learn how to play golf or quit" lessons and practice improve your golf game, not equipment. equipment is a tool to make the game easier but its not meant to make you better. its not the arrow its the indian

| OK... I admit it... I'm soooooo weak...
I just bought a Callaway FT-i Tour, 9.5 degree, stiff Speedster shaft... It should be here next week. I hope Callaway won't take it away from me because I have a Garfield head cover for my driver. The story line behind that is simple... I'm not Tiger... get it?

I read your review in your other thread, and seeing your sig, I'm not surprised that you would prefer it, since you and Nike are apparently joined at the hip. All I can tell you is that the Golfsmith store I go to can't GIVE a Sumo away, while they can't stock the Callaway FTi's fast enough. Must be something to that. And as I posted elsewhere, my FTi isn't longer or shorter that any other driver I've tried, just more consistent, and for most shots I hit a lovely high draw that will still bore into the wind despite the height. I expect to see more FTi's showing up on my home course after I use it in my club's season opening scramble this Saturday. I've already created a lot of interest just during casual rounds.

| I wonder what the visual issue is with the Nike square driver? I wonder if it's the crescent on the back that tries to hide the fact it's square and is supposed to appear to be a traditionally shaped club? Being a Callaway fan, I didn't really concern myself with the Nike anyway, but it's strange to hear the negative comments about it.
At Redlands Country Club near Homestead, Florida, the Nike is outselling the Callaway two to one. I wonder why?

| I'm going to Carl's GolfLand tonight afterwork to testhit the FT-i. I thought I could resist the urge to run right out and pick one up, but my will is being overcome by all of the good reviews about the FT-i. I don't expect it to magically fix any part of my game but I look forward to letting a club provide better results on miss-hits.
I just couldn't wait it out like I had hoped. I'll post pictures later tonight or tomorrow if I actually pick one up.

I wonder why? | I dunno but I'm in Florida as well and we have 2 Pro-Golf's, a Golf USA and 2 Golf Worlds they are all out of both Sumo's and Sumo Squared but have at least 2-3 FT-i's in stock, around here it's not just me but the Sumo is easily the most popular new club on the courses.
