is there any difference between a ping g2 driver and a g5. i own a G2 and use it very well, however, i own a set of ping g5 irons which are great, bought them and shot a level round (3 under after 17, 8 on 18th par 5) and hadnt played in 3 weeks. but really my question is has anyone tried a g2 then gone onto a g5 driver.

To be honest there is really no difference except a few technical tweaks the only one i can see being the bottom of the G5 has an extra blue line

for the g5 they moved a couple of ounces from the crown to the sole for a lower center of gravity. other that that they're nearly identical

So to be honest if you are thinking of buying a G2 or a G5 id go with the G2 simply because its cheaper and near enough the same

Yeah performance wise there is not much difference, you might find the G5 produces a slightly higher launch angle but thats about it
