Talking Did I buy too much - Beginner

Alright, here's the deal. My work requires me to play golf at least once a month with different customers and I just bought my first set of clubs today at Roger Dunn. The first time I ever hit a club was about 3 months ago and it was the most amazing feeling I have ever had and one of the best days I can remember.

Did I buy a set I could grow into or did I throw money away. I plan on getting lessons in the coming weeks so I do not start off with any bad habits. Be honest and don't hold back. Thank you very much and this is my first post.

You have some decent clubs there mate, but if im honest there is nothing worse that being the bloke with "all the gear, but no idea". Spend a few £££ on some lessons so you can get the most from your equipment.

Enjoy the game, its a bitch of a mistress.

Thumbs up

Thank you both for your honesty. I have the money to buy what I want/need but I must be honest I was worried that I would be the "village idiot" when I take out those shiny new clubs and miss the ball on the first hole. I will buy lessons the day I get my clubs since I had to order them to fit me (I am 6'-5" and have large hands so I had to go with the jumbo grips with a +1) I am practicing my grip with a special tool that helps me start out by gripping the iron properly.

It is a bit overwhelming and I know I am in for one hell of a time learning but I really am motivated. Thanks again for the welcoming comments and Police for commenting on the purchase; I was really worried I was not going to get the right set to start my learning process.

The most important thing is that you enjoy the game no matter how hard you find it.

Lee Trevino was asked one time by a fan if a certain set of golf clubs would take 5 strokes off his game. Lee's reply, "It's not the bows and arrows but the indian."

Your words are very true yuetigergolf. Your comments are exactly why I have decided to take up the game of golf. Quality of life and to grow freindships.
