r7 425

i've noticed that the center of the club face on my r7 looks as if it is dented in just a little. i bought the club used but i know there was no way someone did this. it's too perfect of a circle. is this normal on the r7 425? is it just like a "sweet spot" that you should be able to hit in? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, your clubhead speed must be way up there. I checked my 580XD and I don't see a glimmer of a dent. My swing speed is like 95 though. Maybe some of the experts will weigh in on this.

I dont think that is right, if there is a dent then at some point the angles on the face of the club are pointing in all different directions.

If its a new club, I would send it back to Taylormade, although chances are they will just say it was because of misuse.

Just a wild thought here. I had a friend that had a 580 like mine with the OEM shaft in it. He had bought it 2nd hand and had never even registered the serial number. The shaft broke near the hosel and he took it to Golfsmith, who sent it back to Taylor Made. A few weeks later, he got it back, but it was a brand new driver instead of his being repaired. I'd at least go to a reputable store that is a Taylor Made authorized vendor and ask about it.

Since he bought it used, he may have no such recourse. If whoever he bought it from won't make good on it, I doubt that TaylorMade will feel any responsibility for it. For all they know, somebody could have taken a frustration swing with it at a tee marker.
