Any experience with Taylor Made r5 fairway woods?

I'm currently in the market for a new 3-wood. I've always liked Taylor Made when it comes to woods, so I'd like to stick with them. I was wondering if anyone has hit the Taylor Made r5 dual 3-wood 15deg.

I recently picked up a Taylor Made Rescue Mid 19deg Stiff Steel, but I only hit it about 240 when well struck.

I want something I can control off the tee really well for the tighter holes, but still hit 275 or so to get myself in good scoring range.

Anyone have any feedback on this club for me?

Hey,

I tried it, the r5 fairway wood but I didn't feel it, however I liked the latest Callaway Big Bertha 3 wood. Its much bigger in clubhead, at 200cc. And produces a Loud Pinging sound and very forgiving.

lastly, BB 3wood is 2007 Editor's choice for fairway wood :-)

I have the SVG version of the TM R5 3wood and it is VERY straight and forgiving. This is both from the tee and the fairway.

Ok so I finally found one of these. It has a really sweet feel. When I hit it solidly, it will go about 250-260, and has a really high MOI so hooks and slices are rare unless I hit it way off center. It goes a little higher than I'd like, which is probably due to the kickpoint in the stock TM shaft, but it does come down really softly, which is probably good for keeping it on the greens and in play in the fairways on shorter holes. I may switch it out for a shaft with a higher kickpoint.

Well if it hits that far and doesn't slice or hook as much I am going to look into one of those.

Yea you should check em out. I swing pretty hard, so it probably won't go that far for most people, but it is definitely the most solid 3-wood I've ever hit.
