i recently saw a commercial on this driver and it looks convinceing anybody have this club if so does it work like it says it does?

Uh, in a word, NO! I have one..it is great for laughs, but nothing more..I call this club the auto slicer.

Hey 300 yards...I was looking at your clubhead speeds, ball speeds, and distances when you demo'd drivers. All of the stats that you provided were with standard length OEM clubs.
What happens when you have a 48"-50" driver in your hands regarding club head speed and distance?

What have you done with the LDA so far and have you ever attempted to qualify for the Re/Max World Finals?

I hit a 48" driver once. I didn't hit it on a LM or anything, just out in my yard. I would safely say that I gained about 35 yards, with roll, but I never actually measured it, I just saw where it landed, and I'm pretty good at judging distance, so that seems about right. Possibily a little shorter. My problem is, I'm a short guy..so these long clubs screw me up, making me slice more often that not. I think that's the main reason I slice the Hammer(Xplosion) so much. It's probably a 47" shaft.

No, I haven't attempted to be in the LDA, but I appreciate the thought. Maybe one day, I will try out, but right now I'm trying to get focused on my future more.

I have a cousin who could easily be in the LDA. In fact, much of what I know about distance, is from him. He taught he some stuff, and I would watch him when he hit, etc. For the sake of sanity on this forum, I won't post his average drive, but i can tell you..he can outdrive me, quite significantly, all carry.

Now more about this driver: One thing I DO like about it, is how tough it is! Iswear this thing is unbreakable, unbentable, and nearly unscratchable. I accidently broke a chair with this driver, while swinging it in my house. I scratched the side a little..but no dents, or nothing, and I still worked just as badly as before. A little polish, buffed the scratch right out.
I also accidently raised it into a vey fast industrial ceiling fan once, again a little scratching, but nothing polish couldn't fix. So if you have a tendency to breah clubs..I dare to try to break this one. Especially the Xplosion I have, with the flatshaft..

I understand what you're saying about the long shafts and a height of 5'7". The only way you have a chance of not slicing them is to use ultra HIGH tees and hit up on it from the inside. And even then it could be hard to time. It just takes getting used to it and working with a longer club.

If your cousin COULD be in the LDA...then he SHOULD be in the LDA. He doesn't even have to join for that matter, nor do you. All you have to do is enter a LOCAL qualifier around your area and blast away with as many balls as you want. If you win or at least get into the top 3, that will qualify for District finals. Get through district finals and it's the Finals for the RE/MAX World Championship on ESPN.

Carl Wolter, a schoolteacher in PA, came out of nowhere a few years ago and won the whole thing by doing just what I said above.

I know that, and so does he..but he has other things in mind, I suppose. Beats me, man. I didn't realize you could do that..are you talking driving competitions? I would love to do that..but I still have a problem with a lot of people watching me. Always has been my biggest issue. A few people, I can deal with, but add on 1000 people + like 5 tv crews, and I will almost certainly choke. That would suck to do on national tv. If I ever get over that, which I am working on, I would definently consider that. Thanks for that nifty info, I had no idea it was that simple. Well, not simple, but you know what I mean..

Well, it actually is that simple. The local qualifier is the first step. You MUST place Long Drivers of America in your favorites and check it regularly. Click onto local qualifiers. Here is a list of local qualifiers that are currently taking place right now until 5-12 at various sights throughout the country.

They should be updating it once the schedule is set for more locations after 5-12 into the summer.

At the local level in that qualifier, there aren't hardly any onlookers other than contestants. You BUY 6 balls and hit as long and far into a grid that's between 45-55 yards wide. You can hit all day if you want, as long as you keep buying another batch of 6 balls.
There's a price for non-LDA members and a price for LDA members, with LDA members getting a break on the cost. Your drives are measured and recorded for length. Some guys will hang around all day and hit a few groups of balls at various times becauses the wind and weather changes frequently. In other words, if the competition starts at 10am and you hit some balls into a 10 mile an hour head wind and at 1pm the wind reverses itself and is now blowing 15 mph from behind...guess when you better get your arse up and start blasting again! Also, lets say you have the longest drive for the day and are currently in 1st place and some guy comes up and beats it, there's nothing stopping you from hitting more to try to recapture 1st place.

This DOES NOT happen at the district level (the next level that you advance to if you were one of the top guys at the Locals). You only get 6 balls and have to work your way through different bracket pairings to advance.

Learning to hit in front of spectators is part of the whole gig and something that has to be learned to overcome nerves. EVERYONE gets nervous...you just have to learn how to perform when your butt is puckering real tight. I've seen some guys so nervous that their hand was shaking so bad they couldn't get the ball to stay on the tee.

The BEST cure I've seen to get rid of the nerves is...just DON'T ENTER. Don't even try. Don't go through the experience.

Seriously...I've gotten two guys to make it into the World Finals at the RE/MAX. It's not always an easy journey and can take a few years of trying while experimenting with different club/shaft combinations, swing techniques, and just getting used to the process as well as handling pressure.

If you and your cuz are interested at all, PM me and I'll help you from a long distance as best I can. You might have more fun than you ever realized and you might put some money in your pocket. You won't know unless you try. But, from my working with guys for 15 years on this long drive stuff, I think I can spot someone with innate talent.
Based on your swing speeds and distances which you posted, you could have a shot, along with Cuz.
