Driver Question

I am a begining golfer looking to upgrade to a better driver. I have a cheap set of ram clubs right now. I have used a cleveland launcher 460TI. I want to set my cap at about $200 max on it. I am looking at either picking up a Cleveland Launcher 460TI, the Callaway X460, or the Hippo Hex 2. I am just starting out so looking for something that is forgiving and easy to hit consitantly. I have heard that the Hex 2 is good for this, has anybody tried it? Also I slice alot!!!!!
I am thinking about the Hex 2 since it is supposed to help cut down on slices is my understanding, also I went to a golf store the other day and the salesman mentioned the Cleveland launcher and Callaway x460 were a few year old clubs, so not the best tech out there. I know the Hex 2 is a new club.
What are your guys's choices.
Thanks.

Callaway X 460, forgiveness is its middle name. Excellent club.

driver question

don't believe that money=everything when it comes to drivers, especially after-market ones.

first, look at what type of shaft you need. if you've never looked into shaft material, i'd start there.

have you ever seen a rusted cadillac with prime-time rims? doesn't make sense, dollar wise or aesthetically, does it? i'd look for something cheaper in a driver and spend the rest on wedges or a new iron set. give me a shiny engine (wedges) over rims anyday.

don't be led to believe that you have to sport a high-dollar driver to play well... i bet the same money could improve your clubs and game in other ways.

but... having said that, the new driver techology is always impressive, and if you hit a driver MUCH better than the rest of your clubs (on the same quality level) then it might be worth it.

oh, and let us know what you decide. i'm kinda in the same boat. i'm sportin a shiny GM sedan with rusty rims.

e

edit: support on my driver thread would be nice.... hate to ask. the popular outdated reviews mean nothing to me.

Go with X460. I used hippo giant 400, r7 Quad and now, a r7 superquad. I would say, hippo's technology is not quite suitable for beginner. But again you can't compare hippo with callaway or taylormade. IMHO.
