| Recommended Driver Hello all. I'm sry about posting another question. I'll get straight to the point. I am looking for a better driver. I currently use a Ram Concept tour and it gets the job done ... sometimes. Recently I've been hitting pretty straight and now I am looking for more distance. Today at the Golf Club's pro shop I seen a used Ping G5 for about 180 bucks.
I've also looked at a Cleveland Hibore at around 169 bucks band new. I've herd good and bad things about them both. I herd that the Ping isn't for everyone and horror stories on how people couldn't control them and had to trade them in right away. And I herd that the Cleveland isn't the longest off the tee. But I herd that both on them are pretty accurate. I need something that would help me lengthen my drive to at least 250. My normal drive is around 200-230, so I don't know if a club would help me gain 20 to 50 yards. But I would be willing to spend about 185 or less on a driver, new or used, but in good condition (just normal wear a driver takes) I would have to buy it from a store though. So if anyone has comments on the Ping, Cleveland, or any other club you guys bought at around that price range plz feel free to add them. Thank you

| Not sure that the driver is going to help so much but more on swing mechanics/contact and power. Maybe doing some strength exercises or working on shoulder turn or things like that, that would help increase your club head speed off the tee is the right way to go. There are many ways to increase your distance but different clubs really in my opinion wont have much affect. Look around, do some things and hopefully your distance will improve. Good luck! |

| Increasing yardage is a factor of increasing club head speed, though top notch equipment can add some to that equation. If I were looking for top notch equipment, with excellent forgiveness and proven track record, and of course under $200.00, I'd take a serious look at Callaway Pre-owned equipment.

| Don't think that just because a driver is more expensive that it is better. I just bought 3 drivers on ebay with good quallity, 1 for $250, another for $200 and another for $100. Guess which one was best... Well the $100 driver was 20 yards longer than the next closest one. |

| well I'm probs in a good position to answer this, having only yesterday bought a new driver from my old RAM
whatever people say, equipment does make a difference, but make sure its something that you're comfortable with, try and go to a shop to try the clubs out. I tried both Nike Sasquatch Sumo's, Taylormade Superquad, Callaway FT5 and in the end settled on the Sasquatch Sumo 1 cos I hit it the best and felt good with it.
Point is, try the equipment first because different swings suit different clubs. (but my new Nike is amazing as well ) |

| Yeah I understand what you are saying. And I too want to upgrade from a Ram. I have a local Nevada bob's store and I only shop there for golf stuff. They let me test out the Taylormade R7 draw and I liked it. But before I settle on just one driver I want to swing a couple more. Since I'm only 14 I want to "invest" in a driver that will work for years until I get a job.

| Best driver out there in my opinion, is the Taylormade R5 Dual Driver (draw). Use to slice a big banana everytime with my gorilla like swing when using other drivers, and I have used a few in my day... With the R5, I can't get it to draw, however the banana slice is now more like a gentle fade, unless I try to kill it like a big gorilla... |
