FT-5 driver advice

I have the 905r titleist driver 10.5 regular shaft ys-6 and hit well with it. I regularly shoot in the mid 90's and swing speed is 89 to 95 mph . I just received as a gift ft-5 tour driver 9.5 with stiff fujikura e360 shaft. I know the tour ft-5 is for experience low handicapper and thats not me . I went to the range and i hit it really good and also longer than the titleist. i was very surprised at the results , do you think i could get even better results if i changed out the shafts to a regular? i owned a x460 callaway before with a reg fujikura shaft and it was way to whippy and i sliced really bad,I traded it in after 2 rounds. so what do you think??

I think you should do more testing first.. Some shafts flex differently than others, so try different shafts before you switch out. If your hitting it good though, I would say to keep it.

Changing shafts in both of those drivers is a pain. The 905 has a metal sleeve inside the hosel and I think the FT-5 has a plastic one. Either way you would have to take the drivers to someone who knows what they are doing or risk ruining them both.
I agree with 300Yards. Hit both of them to see whether one is better than the other. Keep the one that works, sell the other one!

I ended up getting fitted from callaway for a new ft 5 driver to my specifications and traded the tour model in.

You used a Titleist before, go demo the 907 D2 with a Proforce V2 shaft in a reg flex, (swing speed 89 to 95) I can almost guarantee you love it. Some people say it's only for low handicapper's but that couldn't be father from the truth.

I returned the ft5 again. i demo a fti and my mind was blown. this club hits solid. i went to the range and this club was long and straight and the feel was even better than the 905r. i Should have gone with fti the first time around rather than the square head turning me off. this ugly duckling hits like freight train. i found my new favorite club again, It took some time but i found her

Yeah, that Ft-i is a bomb! When I first saw it, I luaghed, but then I demoed it, and holy crap, I felt bad for laughing! If I had the dough, I would buy one for the skinny fairways at Evergreen. It'd be worth gold at that place..

Glad you found something that works!

its hard to fork over $ 500 for a driver. i found it at callaway pre owned for half that price. you can't even tell its been used before. they have some awesome deals at that site. I traded in my callaway x12 for a brand new set of x20s for half the price also.

I'm curious what what FT-5 were you fitted with?
Your swing speed of 89 - 95 warrants a reg flex shaft on a non tour version.
Myself and several others I play with have FT-5s and love them.
I have not used the fti but, I hear it is very nice!

Good luck
