| Fisher and Hansen lead the way Ross Fisher and Soren Hansen both fired blistering rounds of 64 to stride to the top of the leaderboard after the first round of The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Fisher, who like Hansen was playing the Kingsbarns course in the tournament that also features the Old Course at St Andrews and Carnoustie, rattled in seven birdies, an eagle and just one bogey to end the day atop the leaderboard on eight under par.
“It's a lovely setting here at Kingsbarns, the weather was just perfect,” said a delighted Fisher.
“To take advantage of a day like this was just great and to do it in the fashion that I did with a 64, was very, very pleasing. I'm off to a great start but there is long way to go.”
The Englishman was joined by Ryder Cup player Hansen, who was in similar form and captured an identical eagle, seven birdies and a bogey from his round. Source |

| Kaymer moves into lead Martin Kaymer continued to build on his impressive opening round of 65 as the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship got under way.
The German had been a shot off the lead when he teed off at The Old Course at St Andrews this morning on seven under par, but he moved to eight under after eight holes to move into top spot.
Kaymer bogeyed the 397 yard par four third but back to back birdies at the seventh and eighth took him to one under for his round.
Raphaël Jacquelin was heading a group of four players hot in pursuit at seven under.
The Frenchman had played ten holes at Carnoustie and was three under for his round having shot a 68 yesterday. Source |

| Brier holds slender lead Markus Brier took the lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after a second round 70 at St Andrews took him to eight under par on a day when freezing cold conditions meant layers were the clothing of choice.
The Austrian’s two under par effort followed a 66 at Kingsbarns yesterday and gives him a one shot lead in the clubhouse.
Brier - looking for a first win on The European Tour since the 2007 Volvo China Open - leads by a shot from four players.
Brier bogeyed the second but back to back birdies at the sixth and the seventh showed he had not lost the impressive form he showed yesterday.
He dropped a shot at the tenth but pulled it straight back with a two at the 174 yard 11th. Source |

| Kaymer and Sandelin ahead in Scotland Martin Kaymer admitted it was tough going at Carnoustie today after he and Jarmo Sandelin tied at the top of the leaderboard on six under par after three rounds of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Strong winds and cold conditions saw most of the field struggle around The Old Course at St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.
But Kaymer and Sandelin produced rounds of 73 and 72 respectively at Carnoustie to open a one shot lead over Magnus Carlsson.
German Kaymer had reached seven under par on Thursday with an opening 65 at Kingsbarns and he lay second overnight after a 72 at St Andrews.
He bogeyed the par three eighth today at Carnoustie but a birdie at the ninth took him back to seven under at the turn.
He suffered three bogeys on the back nine at the 12th, 15th and 16th but birdies in between at the 13th and 14th saw him produce a respectable one over total for the day. Source |

| Karlsson wins play-off at St Andrews Robert Karlsson was left lost for words after beating Ross Fisher and Martin Kaymer in a three-way play-off to take the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.
The Swede shot 65 at The Old Course to finish with a ten under par total of 278 but a birdie at the first extra hole gave him victory and took him top of The Order of Merit.
Karlsson, who won the Mercedes-Benz Championship in September, got off to a flying start with three birdies in his first four holes.
He also picked up shots at the seventh, tenth, 11th and 14th to leapfrog Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington at the top of The Order of Merit with a bogey free 65.
He said: “I played a bad round yesterday and all of a sudden got myself into the play-off and made a birdie on the first hole and was like, oh, that was quick. I don't know what to say.
“It was very nice to play today compared to the last couple of days. It was a nice day out there. Source |
