Newbie Golf Ball question...

Why is it that when I bought a box of golf balls with 4 sleeves, one sleeve has three balls with a 1, another sleeve has three balls with the number 2, and so on to 4?

Is there any significance in this?

not really..its just to make sure you dont have all the same kind of balls with the same number like all #1 balls..it would be tough to figure out who's ball is who's with the same # and ball..

if I were you I would mark all your balls with a little marking or your iniials. anything to signify it is yours. One time I was playing the same ball as my freind with the same number. we couldnt find out who's was who's

Hey,

I agree with Chivas, you either mark your ball with your own special design.

Like I used a red & black pen marker to know thats it's mine. Or you can simply buy a yellow golf ball, to make your ball different.

I do not pur initials on the ball, but just draw a one liner encircling the ball, this will also helped you "set up" your ball when you are setting up for a putt shot.
