I'm new to playing golf, I've only played on a driving range... I was wondering if there is any particular club to start with when beginning? (People have told me 7-iron).

I have found a site with some cheap clubs on and I want to buy a wood, iron, wedge and putter.

Which wood, iron and wedge should I buy? (eg. Driver? 6-iron? Pitching wedge?)

starter sets usually have a driver, 3 wood, 3,5,7,9,pw and a putter. I wouldn't even try the 3 iron, I would quickly replace it with a hybrid of around 19*. You should start with a driver that has at least 12* of loft, this will help you get the ball airborne and you should be able to hit it fairly straight. good luck.
