Stronger Grip helped me?! Why?

I have a neutral overlapping grip. I’ve been having problems hitting my hybrids and woods with consistently – slicing them mostly and actually popping up the ball with the driver every once in a while.

But the other day I decided to change my grip with these clubs and have hit them straighter and more consistently – just like that!

I took a stronger grip with 3 knuckles showing on my left hand and the right slightly more under – not too much just a little bit more than my normal grip.

I still use a neutral grip with clubs 7i to the wedges but with the 6i to the driver I changed the grip and found more confidence with those clubs more than I ever had before!

So why does the grip change facilitate this more consistent ball flight in my swing?

Probably nothing more complicated than the changed grip supporting some other dynamics of whatever swing you were making before.

There must be other problems in your swing which make you need to do this.
If you haven't already, see a PGA Pro or Teacher to help you with your swing.
