this is a great thread, even if its old and out of date to the specifics.

when you move up in the working world, you are supposed to get paid more for your experience and past credentials. how could we expect the top professionals to work for lesser wages? would you expect a meeting with Ted Turner if you showed up at the office one day?

tiger woods has had such a positve influence on the golfing world that he can do what he wants as far as appearances, in my book. he'll help if he's free. so be it. phil is great with the media too, and an equal to tiger in every way, other than scoring average. he's the Watson to elementary sherlock Jack in a way. and i think Travino is waiting in Choi.... anyway, in a way.

i think touring professionals have the right to chose their shots with one exception. i don't think ad promotions should be allowed to be shot for future use when a PGA event is underway, unless it is shot at the venue site. might make another tour to handle it all....

too many are too good for one tour now... the playoff system is gonna ruin the PGA (IMHO, rarely an apt acronym user), they should get out now. we will all follow.

and $0.98's your change.

And if you want to tell Phil, who has won 30 PGA tournaments, including 3 majors; or Tiger who has won I think 57 tournaments at the age of 31, that they need to play more tournaments, they would just laugh in your face. Because you have no idea how grueling it is to be a professional golfer. If they are off their game just one week, or one hole(ask phil about winged foot), they are constantly reminded of it from the media and the likes of ESPN and the Golf Channel. If they were forced to play every week, they just wouldn't be as sharp or as good, and I personally wouldn't want to see them unless they are at their best.
yes.

how many individual professions are there where the stakes are so cut and dried AND on international television. how many surgeons would sign up every week if they knew everyone with laymans knowledge was watching, looking to critique first?
