Boy! You should see how nasty the conversations about this are at the Golf Channel forums. I do believe her wrist was bothering her because I don't believe she could shoot 14 over for 16 holes at the worst of times if she was healthy, but to say she would ice it down and hit practice balls the next day sure made it sound suspicious.

OK maybe her wrist was bothering her. If so why not pull out after 9 holes? Nooooooooo, she waits until her manager comes to talk to her on the 17th tee. Now it has been reported that there was an official from the LPGA close by and was seen chatting with her manager, before he talked to Michelle Wie. Now does this not strike you as a coincidence or just pure luck? Her agent was more than likely informed about the "88 RULE" and he informed Wie. She stated "We're quitting" not "I am quitting"
Then she has an interview and states she will play in next weeks Major.
This kid has been mismanaged from day one. Totally mismanaged. She should have gone to college, played Amateur golf until she knew how to win.
I have to think that the higher ups at Nike might be shaking their heads about signing her now. $20 million for what? A non winner and someone who is allowed to play in 6 LPGA events a season until she can apply for her card. As for her being allowed into GPA Events, the organizers of those events need to give their heads a shake. IMO she is no longer a drawing card for any event.
I 2nd the motion.
Michelle may be a good terrific golf player but she has to take small steps first, by first becoming a collegiate player, and try to win tournaments before jumping into any pro tourney.
Even, Tiger Wood & Lorena Ochoa first played in college before becoming pro.
+ 18 for the weekend rounds at this weeks Major. Smooth, real smooth for someone who is supposed to be able to compete against the men. In her interview after Saturday's round she mentioned playing Sunday in order not to disappoint the sponsors. Well she sure didn't seem to concerned about that problem the previous week when she WD'd after 16 holes.
This young girl is confused and being guided poorly by her Father, Mother and agent.
Injury or no injury, she is not progressing her game. She is going back wards.
The time has come for her to step off the stage, get healthy (if that is the really reason she is playing poorly) and grow up.
OF course with $20 Million handed to her on a silver platter there really is no reason for her to achieve anything in Pro Golf now. She is set for life, whether she wins or even bothers to play Pro golf again.
Hey Nike, well done, you handed out a big bag of cash to someone who has proven she can not win yet. Smart move.
I hope the LPGA Championship embarrassment this weekend will convince her to reevaluate her game and management structure. Twenty-one over par isn't creditable for anyone who is hyped the way she is.
