My most embarrasing experience....

Though how tricky and breathtaking the famous golfers do in every shot, there are times the world is not theirs. They would have something to tell more than the best shots and putts they made.....their most disappointing and embarrassing experience they have in their golf career...How about you? Haven't got into the wet hole? or had stepped into a yucky manure while having a move on the game?

I'm sure Phil would tell you about his collapse at the U.S. Open if he had the courage to talk about it.

In my case, I was part of a twosome playing behind my father and his foursome. I was about 15 at the time. I've told the story in a previous thread, but basicaly, I made a hole in one on the par 4 first hole at The Standard Club in Louisville, Kentucky and as we approached my father's group on the second tee, they suggested we play through because we were just two.

After listening to my father brag about how great I was going to be, I cold topped it off the tee in front of my father and his friends.

I've probably done some other dumb or embarrassing things, but that sticks in my mind as if it was yesterday.

Although I was not really embarrassed by this it did happen.
I was playing in a 4some with 3 friends and had just aced the Th hole at my course. Par 3 173 yds, smooth 7 iron and nothing but cup!
As we walked to the Th tee the Pro and the Ranger drove up in the cart. My playing partners told them I just had an ace so the Pro steps out of the cart to shake my hand. Of course I have the honors on the Par 5 so I step up and let's just say my drive did not leave me in a position to make birdie We all had a good laugh and off we went, and I did par the hole.
Standing on that tee with the PRO watching me rattled me I guess, plus the fact I was still pretty pumped over the ace and swung hard.
I eventually played some golf with that PRO. I actually hung in there one Sunday morning with him for 9 holes, he had me by one stroke. Then he turned it up a little on the back 9 Beat me by 5. We played some 9 hole trips after that and got to know each other quite well. Shame he moved on last year.

The first hole of a big junior golf tournament. I'm paired up with three guys I should be able to beat by at least 5 strokes easily. Just to make sure, I decide to intimidate them a little with my first drive. However, it goes about 200 yards too short to cause any psychological damage. (To them at least )

Try sneaking off into the woods for a tinkle, only to find that there a lady's foursome, looking for a lost ball, have an unobstructed view of the proceeding. Then they wave to you......
