| Basically what Dennis said. But the Amateurs play from closer tee boxes. Sometimes the "Team" won't make the cut but the Pro will, so a lot of amateurs will no be playing the last couple of days.
It is basically an invite only type of event for the amateurs. They don't have to qualify of anything. Sometimes the Pro will invite them or they get invited because they may make good ratings.
Its also a great way for CBS to push some of their shows. A few years ago it wasn't the Pebble Beach Pro AM it was the King of Queens and Ray Ramano show. It was terrible. They literally showed those two jokers the whole time. They followed Ray as he was stuck on a beach for like 20 minutes. I turned it off after that, I wanted to watch some good golf, not some hack who can't break 100.
Anyone else remember that?
