Payne Stewart

I just got done reading the biography of Payne Stewart, written by his wife. If Payne wasn't in that plane and continued where do you think he would be today? Would we know him as one of the top golfers still, or would he be one in the middle of the pack.

Personally, I think he'd be like Tom Lehman - contending from time to time, but, just like Lehman, right now he'd be spending his time preparing for the Ryder Cup, as he would be the captain, with Hal Sutton and Paul Azinger as his assistants. Actually, he may have gotten Sutton's spot in the last one. Other than that, I think he'd be sliding towards a lucrative Champion's Tour career. I could be wrong, but then again, we'll never know. He was a class guy.

I think he would still be considered on of the top 10 golfers on tour. Payne might not have contended every week, but he always seemed to contend in the majors or important tournaments. He was certainly an intense competitor.

He had personality, and was well thought of.

I still remember seeing and hearing the details about the plane crash, terrible.
