Jack vs. Tiger

So we have seen in another thread that there is an ongoing debate on whether or not Tiger will break Nicklaus's agelong record of most majors won. But who is or will be the best golfer of all time when all is said and done.

I love the Golden Bear and everything he has done but I can't go against Tiger. He has played too well ever since he first began to bet against him. In the next decade or so he will establish himself once and for all as the best golfer in the world of all time.

Any other opinions?

Yeah, tiger still has a lot left in him to break Jack's record. Although Jack is a great player and person and I hope tiger doesn't break it for Jacks sake.

Why do you hope Tiger doesn't break it?

Does Jack mind? I think he understands that Tiger is probably a much better player overall than he ever was. Do you think Jack is rooting against Tiger like the old Miami Dolphins root against undefeated NFL clubs?

Tiger vs Jack

Tiger is young and has lots of time to break the record. In my opinion he has it in the bag.

Theres no doubt that tiger woods will break the record. Like others said hes still young and if he continues playing like he has so far he will dominate it.

If tiger plays consistently well then he can do it easily. Unfortunately i dont think he can play consistently well because he hasnt his whole career. Just when you think hes the best he does horrible and vice versa.

Bigbertha, Tiger has really only had one bad year in his entire career. That does not make him inconsistant by any means or strech of the mind.

ESPN overdid their coverage on Tiger losing it...he never really did. He has been dominant for almost a decade now. Of course he is better than Jack was.

Jack was a great player, and always will be. But theres no way he can hold off Tiger. Tiger has done so much in such little time. He'll probably go above and beyond Jack's record. I hope both Tiger and Jack keep up the good work.

After seeing Tiger sink that putt on the 17th a few years ago, i dont think i could ever bet against him.

I don't think anyone can really argue that Michael Jordon wasn't the best basketball player in history.

Karl Malone was great. Magic Johnson was great. Larry Bird was great. But everyone knows Jordon was the best ever.

I think it's the same thing with Woods. He is quite simply the best ever. It's just not in question.
