I think this is hilarious. What's wrong with making the course a little more difficult in a way other than growing the rough or making the fairways narrower. Most players would say they'd rather be in a sand trap than heavy rough around the green. I think the shots out of the sand trap's harder. way to go Jack Nicklaus

I think it's pretty hilarious. If they don't like it, don't hit into the sand. They are pros.

When I was young, bunkers were left in a mess because they were SUPPOSED to be difficult to get out of. For some reason, that attitude changed around the late 50's and early 60's. I'm not sure why that attitude changed, but raking at all was sketchy at best.

I totally agree. Most guys will at some point in a tournament hit it into a bunker on a par 5 or something, on purpose, because that is there best chance of getting up and down. A bunker is supposed to be a hazard. You don't see guys strategically hitting into the water...it should be the same with the traps.

What a great line! The next time I feel like walking off the golf course, THAT'S going to be my logic... I strategically hit it in the water and need my wetsuit to play it out!
