| Right then Mr Tiger, I'm game
Lets see, im 26 years old, 6'2, I dont work in lbs so I'm 15 stone (ish). I used to play to a 10 handicap, then stopped playing - found beer, women, pubs and clubs.
After 4 years I picked the clubs up again 18 months ago, and have been playing ever since.
My aim is to get down to single figures by the end of next year. You can see my equipment in my sig below.
At the moment, I can shoot anywhere from 4 over par to 15 over par. A recent game left me 2 under my current handicap (15) with a couple of 7's and a couple of 6's on my score card. So I am still a little rusty, whist at the same time improving.
Shot wise, I am all about the power, hitting 300 yard drives pretty much on average. I currently use a mix of NXT balls, basically because I can get them at a good price on fleabay. If I was to hit a topflite or anyother ball apart from nxt they feel like I am hitting a stone around the course with no finesse. (excluding the pro v range of course).
Best of luck

| You must have a decent swing if you're hitting 300 yd drives after not playing for 4 years! Anyway, NXT's should be fine, but if you want something new try a Nike High-Launch, it'll give you more accuracy on your drives as well as better distance contol on iron shots.
Good luck getting that handicap back down.

| Ok, I guess I'll have a go at this.
Male, 20 years old, 5'10 175...
My average drive the past 5 or so rounds has been 290. I'm making amazing contact. My swing speed on an indoor thing was above 105 with the driver. O, and I'm around a 5 handicap, but it is going up!
I hit my driver great and it is by far the best club in my bag. With some recent swing changes I've been working on, I have improved with my irons, but they are still the weakest part of my game. I can draw or fade the ball, but usually i'll see what I'm doing that day and stick to it. When I do fade, I have trouble with it turning into a slice. With my irons, when I fade it, I think it fades too much.
I've been hitting lots of different balls. Pro V1s, HX Tours, etc. My spin is inconsitent. Some days I have lots, other it seems like none. The ball I've been using is the Srixon HR-X 333(great ball, and 25 bucks b/c of their new balls). I love the ball, but I don't think it has enough spin.
I just want something that is sorta cheap, but can help with my iron side spin and isn't extremely hard! |

has a very soft feel as well and performs in the same way as the PROV1X just that is about half the price

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am curious Tiger. I am 36 and been playing for 6 years. I am 5'9 and weight 153. I have a strong upper body build, which would put me in that John Cook, Bruce Litzkie, Ian Woosman, Fred Funk category.
My swing speed is on average 100 mph. I have a 8 handicap. I typically hit my driver 250 to 260 yards. I like my driver and fairway woods very much. My strengths are accuracy.
I tend to get sloppy with my 130 yards and in shots. If I don't initiate a lower body lead with my irons I will tend to be a little steep and have a little push in the ball flight. I will also know I am sloppy when my divots point left.
Since this is the beggining of the golf season I have been devoting my time more on short game, because it is really really rusty.
I have been sampling Bridgestone E6, Callaway HX reds, Titleist NXTs. I think these balls help, because they reduce the side spin.
In the past, I have used Maxfli Noodles, Precepts, DT Solos and others.
| Sounds like you have a pretty strong game going. Callaway HX Blues should suit you better than the reds. Precepts are cool, but DT Solos are considered distance balls as far as Titleist is concerned. I've never played a Bridgestone E6, by Noodles are cool. My only other suggestion is to try a Nike Accuracy ball. You won't lose any distance off the tee but your <130 shots should improve.
