I read somewhere that these balls were the best bang for the buck, so I picked up a dozen for $17 and played them for the first time this morning.

I normally use Noodles Long and Soft, or the clear cover Noodle ICE. I Have an affinity for the Noodles because they feel very soft on my Irons.

Well, the Exceptions felt as good or better from the Irons and my drives are about 5 to 10 yards longer on my home course. I'm not a big, booming driver. Normally I am between 240-250. The extra 10 I got this morning was a nice change because on holes where the second shot is usually a 6i from 150, I was using a 7i from 140. I was deadly with the 7 this moring too, sticking four or five within 6ft. of the pin for birdie chances. Only made two of those chances though, but that's besides the point.

These balls just felt good. I have yet to try any top-of-the-line-$40perdozenballs so cannot compare to the pro1v etc, but these balls have my vote of confidence and will be my new regular ball from now on. I can't really describe it, but after just one round of golf I am ready to make the switch. I like to stick with one ball so I can feel consistency with my strokes, so I wouldn't switch lightly unless I felt super confident it was the right move.

I'm a beginner. Just getting to the point where I can tell the difference between balls.

I agree with yakdork. The Pinnacle Exceptions have a soft feel cover and great distance. After 18 holes, the one ball I used showed the beginnings of wear. I doubt a dozen will last me six months, but this is the first time I've had to worry about wearing them out, instead of losing them, so I call that progress and give a lot of credit to the ball.

This ain't a magic ball, but I love it. For $20/dz, I think it's a bargain.

A cheap ball is the Pinnicle Gold ideal if you like golfballs that are hard and fly

I have read that the Pinnacle Exception is very close to NXT. Both are made by the same company. I have played an Exception and found it to be a decent ball. For the money you can't go wrong. I normally play NXT Tours, so I had something to compare the Exception too.
