Yep, I use that one..it DOES indeed go at least 10 yards longer..actually with my SS, Id say it goes about 15 yards longer..there's no such thing as too much distance. Well, unless you hit 400 yards, or have trouble controlling it.

i dont know ive been playing the new prov1x for a few months and distance wise its only 3-5 yards longer than last years model. my swing speed with the driver has been up in the high 120's to 130 so it must be a product of the spin your producing.

Could be. I'm still on the old models for now. 10 yards isn't worth the premium to go and buy the new ones when I still have 50 of the old ones left. Just found a few here and there and tried em out. Of course, I'm also right in the middle of revamping my entire swing, so it could be that too...

new balls

My local pro got some nike prototypes through they are the nike one platinum p7's being made now for tour players now look out for when they come out they were going longer than the pro v by 15-20 yards of the tee with just a little bit less spin they are good balls and i would recommend that you keep an eye out

Whta do people think of these balls: Taylormade TP Red
Nike one platinum
Callaway Hx tour 56

i believe that those 3 balls are the only ones out at the moment that can compete slightly with the pro v1 but my favourite is still pro v 1 but nike one platinums are creeping into my bag more and more. I have also recently started to hit the HX TOUR'S which came to me as a big surprise because i am not a big fan of callaway balls as i don't believe they have any quality to them and the price is ridiculous compared to the standard of ball

You guys are all missing the point when it comes to what ball is the best ball. The best ball for you is the one that suits your game. Period. You have to try different balls under playing conditions to find out what is best for you. Just because a PGA Pro plays the PRO V does not mean that ball is good for you to play with.
A CPGA Teaching Pro once told me this "If your handicap is over 15 then any ball will be ok. Except the PRO V's because most people over with an index above 15 do not have the swing speed to properly compress the ball. If you are not compressing it then you will lose distance."

I for one do not play Pro V's. I can if I want but I prefer the NXT Tour. For me that ball suits my game, plus they are almost half the price of Pro V's. I know how far the ball flies with my irons, I know what it does when it lands on the greens and I know how it putts. All of that adds up to lower scores.
That's true about the Pro V's. Although you won't lose a ton of distance by not fully compressing it, and for most people the soft feel would make that a good tradeoff.

Probable..I produce very low RPMs on average. Last time I checked, the average is right around 2000.

I said my average is about 2000..if I want to get technical..by my math, the average is 2100 RPMs...and my launch angle is an average of 14.2*.. but no, the balls probably don't go another 15 yards..after I hit some again yesterday, I'd say it's more like 12.2 yards..oh well, the Pro Vs are awesome, ans that's all that matters! Tell ya what, next time I go to the LM, I will tell you for sure...I'm kinda interested to know now too!

i just discovered the difference betweent the 'titleist pro v1' and the 'titlist pro v1-x' today... im happy and sad.

pro v 1... 300Yards!!!!!! thank you for stating the obvious (missed). i forgot... par 3 balls!... the pro V is the best IMO for approach-type shots.

the problem lies in the spin they generate off the tee for us mid (12-18) handicappers. face it, if you have a big bend in your flight, play (opinion): titleist hx (HP, DT?... ), any other major brand's top tier two-piece constructed ball. high compression three piece balls if you are nailing those hooks/slices. (right gurus?)

i recently found a couple of nice pro-v1x's. wow.. but since 300Y mentioned it, i haven't played the par threes quite as well. stats...

i think i'm a high spin player. i've only been recently (addict level) been playing again, but i hit the pro-v1x straigher off the tee, and more sure out of the rough.... think i could eventually go lower with the pro-v1, though.

i shot my best round today with the pro-v1x... 84, 70.2/122.... 78 aint so far away now.

i also think the Nike Powersoft is a great ball. durable and above average in most phases, but i dont like it off wedges.
