I would have to say the best ball for my "easy gorilla like swing", is the Top Flite D2 Straight, cheap, fairly straight with it's special coating and if you hit it on the screws, it will fly and roll forever. Swing the golf...

The top flite D2 feel is the best ball I've played, including Titleist NXTs and Callaway HX Hots.

I like the Titleist ProV1's. Didn't see any noticable difference between them and the ProV1x's.
I just like punishing $5 golfballs.

Golf Balls are so tailored to the feel of an individual golfer....almost like a putter is. I've hit the a a Titliest and a Srixon and then hit the Maxfli Tour Fire and now I'm hooked(no pun intended). This ball soars! and it's very soft on the green. I am set with this ball!

I just use random crap ones. I got about 20 balls from the lake on the golf course I'm joining. 10 for a quid!

There's nothing wrong with playing used balls but i wouldn't recommend ones fished from a lake. Water will effect the way the ball plays.

I found a maxfli tour fire last weekend while trying to find my wayward tee shot. I ended up dropping the Maxfli and played the rest of the round with it. I too really liked it, but i just bought 3 dozen taylormade tp/black on ebay which i really like. I will be trying the tour fires again though.

If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf.

The Bridgestone E5's and E6's are also worth a look i=for quality balls in the "value" range.
