Any Difference between Mojo & Power Distance?

Hey There,

I've been playing with Nike Mojos because

1) I'm a newbie at golf, and these looked like they would be more forgiving for beginners, and
2) I'm a sucker for marketing, and like the design of the boxes and glitter in the balls.

However, I recently bought a box of Nike Precision Power Distance "Power Soft" balls.

Here's what I've noticed:

The compression rating listed is idential (70)
The divot pattern is identical.
They are the same weight.
When I drop them from the same height onto my coffee table, they have the same bounce.

I compared 2nd Gen Mojos, with the colored balls, (not the disco ball) & the 2006 Power Distance balls.

The only difference I noticed was the glitter in the Mojo balls (Maybe a different cover material) and the price... Mojo's go for about $10 more a dozen.

I'm going to try these out at the local pitch and putt as soon as the weather clears (Mid-may the way we're raining up here in BC) to see if they handle any differntly, but as I'm still pretty new to the sport, I might not be the best judge.

So, anyone know definitely if there is a difference? Anyone got a spare swing robot I can borrow?

Also, besides the Mojos, any recomendations for a guy who is new to the sport, hits fairly straight (varies day to day) and can hit 175 yards with a 3 wood at the range on a good day? The Pro V1 is obviously out for me.

Cheers,
-TMC

A couple of other balls that you might be interested in could be Noodles, and Titleist NXTs - not as expensive as the pro v1's but still a good ball.

Always check out ebay for golf balls.

For regular golf I can go and pay £10 for 1 pack of pro v1's, £3.33 each.

On ebay, mint pro v1's some with markings, no scuffs, 36 for £28, £0.77 each.

Cheaper than lake balls.

I would advise against refurbs, having hit them a few times now, the new skin that is applied doesnt seem to last half as long as a brand new or nearly new without scuffs golf ball.

Refurbs are a big no-no when refurbs say pro v1 the chances are that underneath the cover its a donney

Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure to give them a try just as soon as I manage to lose the balls I currently have.

Again, if anyone has definitive info on the difference, that would be great to know.
