| Taylormade TP golf balls I'm a mid to high handicapper so i'm not the best source for a golf ball review. I've hit just about every ball on the market in the last 6 months, mostly ones i've found in the rough. I like most of the softer feeling nike balls, like the Mojo, distance/soft, Juice and the more expensive nike ones. I love the backspin of the proV1 but i don't like the feel off the face of the club, especially the putter.
I recently found a Taylormade TP/black (i didn't even know Taylormade made golf balls) anyway, i played the rest of my round with it and loved it. It feels great off every club face, it has a high trajectory and spins back like a yo-yo. It also goes a long way off the driver and unlike the ProV1's, the cover stands up to a lot of abuse.
This ball may not suit everyone but i think the lower compression "70" (proV1's are 85) may help slower swing speeds to launch the ball and get a bit more distance. I'm not sure what my swing speed is (i will find out tomorrow in my lesson) but i'm sure it's nowhere near 95mph.
These balls come in Black and Red, the difference is the trajectory. The Blacks launch higher while the Reds have a lower arc, preferred by a lot of pros on the tour. I've yet to try the Reds.
These balls ain't cheap and cost around the same as the ProV1's. I managed to get 3 dozen on Ebay for $70, brand new in the boxes.
Chief.
(EDIT: Had my lesson tonight and my swing speed average was 100mph, now that surprised me, i thought i was alot slower)

Taylormade TP/black balls If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf. |
