First one was during the first round of the Club Championship a few years ago. I was in the A Flight and cruising along at +6 after 15 holes. The 16th is a Par 5, 555 yards from the back tees. Drive goes to the top of a small hill, or part way down depending on the wind and how long you can hit it.
I hit a good drive, centre of the fairway. The lay up shot was good. I had 150 yards, over the swamp and uphill to the green. Into the wind. Problem was I had mud on my ball and we were not playing lift clean and place. So I took a 5 iron to hit the ball a bit easier hoping that would help control it better with the mud on it.
I hit it, the ball started to climb over the swamp and trees and then just about in the middle of the swamp it DROPPED OUT OF THE SKY
Reload time, and that one I hooked a bit left of the green. Could not see exactly where it landed due to the trees in the swamp. 4 of us searched for it, LOST BALL
Back to the corner of the swamp, now laying 7. Hit it on the green in 8, two putt for a smooth 10. Parred in for a 81.
The next day it was windy again and raining a bit. I go out and shot 79, one of the best rounds of the day, to finish 4th in my Flight. Good recovery, just not good enough.
My other horror story. Men's Night. Par 5, hitting my third from 75 yards, over a pond with a 60 degree Vokey. SHANK. Drop, SHANK. Drop, SHANK. STEAMED NOW! Toss that wedge back in the bag and hit my 52 degree onto the collar, pin high. Lag it up to about 15 inches, going to tap in for a smooooooth 11, MISSED THE DAMN PUTT
SMOOOOOOOOTH TWELVE, and it did not turn out to be the HIDDEN HOLE either BTW,that VOKEY was traded two days later!
However I no longer hold the record for highest score on Men's Night. That belongs to a young guy I quite often play with. On the same hole I had my 10 on in the Club C, the 16th, he scored a 16 NUMBEROUS BALLS INTO THE SWAMP!
Ahhhh the great game of golf eh
I know I have had more Good Holes than bad holes in the past 25 years. So the odd blowup doesn't bother me. When you offset a few of those with 3 Holes In Ones, then life is good on the golf course!

| On the 17th, a 459 yard par 5. The green is on an island. Guarding the green on the fairway side, dead center on the green is 150ft oak. I hit my normal 200 drive. I get a hold of a 3 wood for 175. Now I got 84 yards to the center of the green. I load up the PW and get away a clean shot, well theres one stinking little branch almost at the top of the tree and you guest it I hit it, down drops the ball into the moat. Shooting 4, but instead of moving up, I decide to try again from where I'd just shot, what are the chances of hitting that same branch, astronomical, well I did, into the moat it goes. Shooting 6, get smart and move up, but because I'm so perturbed, I shank this one into the moat. Shooting 8, this one is off the toe of the club, clears the moat but over the green on the right side. Chip onto the green, 2 putt......I'm gonna bring a chain saw with me next time.....

| Has to be the 13th at a local golf club near to me...i hit a fairly poor iron te shot into a greenside bunker 10 yard short of the green when walking uo to the ball i see it has a good lie sitting up and what looks to be a lot of sand in the bunker...all good so far.
As i approach the ball my feet sink into the bunker after a huge effort just getting to my ball i notice that the lie is as bear as a badgers bum...
