Hello everyone!
I've been playing for 5 weeks now (3x 9hole par3 and 2x 18holes) and I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and the people who play it.
After 25 years of martial arts (which I'm still doing) I thought I'd take up a stress-free pastime. I've had one lesson already, which determined fairly good body mechanics (mainly due to my martial arts) and has really helped no-end thanks to a very patient Pro.
Due to being 6ft 1in and powerfully built I can generate a fast club speed, which has seen looong drives and long second shots using my much loved V12+ and 3G hybrids. My pitching, however, is a very different story altogether as I just can't get to grips with it. More lessons me thinks!
I have two problems. One is my failure to relax when stepping up to the tee, made all the worse by being watched. I've now taken a leaf out of John Daley's book and step up and "
Grip 'n' Rip", which is really working for me. My other problem is that I'm a perfectionist and will beat myself up over a poor shot I made 3 holes back!
Anyways, back to reading more of the forum.
Take care,
Grip 'n' Rip.
