Hello everyone

Hello everyone,

My name is drew and I am a golf fanatic. I am new to the game. I have actively been palying for about 2 months now. Before golf, I thought it was a boring game. But, I have to give props cause I'm hooked. I love going out to the driving range if nothing else. Anybody have any advice they can give a newbie?

Welcome to the board Drew, always room for another golfer. So you've joined the ranks of the "Golf Fanatics" eh, it happens as soon as you hit one good one right down the middle. The driving range is a good place to practice your swing, but if you want to become proficient at golf you have to MASTER the short game, thats your 7 iron down to your Pitching Wedge. Although its great to really crank a driver, on average you only have your driver in your hands for 16 percent of the time in a round of golf. You have the 7-iron thru Pitching Wedge 64 percent of your round, and the rest is made up with the putter. SO....when your practicing, practice according to the percentages I just mentioned. When you go to the range, start with the short game first, then putting then whack the heck out of it (driver)just before quitting. Again welcome to the board, dont hesitate to post any questions theres lots of experienced members here who'll gladly give you a hand.
