The Gimp is in the house!

Hi all, just been searching the net for some golf forums and you were the first that i found. So Hi, it's nice to be here!

I'm fairly new to the sport having taken it up about 18 months ago and having 6 months out through the british winter (i know, what a lightweight!) but i'm back with a vengeance.

I play off 28 (on a good day) and i'll definitely be here looking for tips later on. Booked in for a lesson next week as i've got plenty of bad habits i need to be getting away from.

i'll see you all around.

Wazzz up Gimp. Good to have you here on the boards. We've all got bad habits we need to get rid off (yes, I mean regarding golf), so don't feel bad. Glad you've fallin' in love with the sport. See ya in the forums

-Tony

I wouldn't beat yourself up about that British winter. I can't stand too much cold and I can't stand too much heat. I'm becoming like the old joke that says I play in the 70's. If it gets any hotter, I stay home.

Welcome to the forum!

Wet heat is RIGHT!!! Sometimes we can't tell whether it's raining or just humid...

Yesterday, I left for the course at 7:15 AM and it was already 88 degrees out. An hour and 45 minutes later at the turn, I left the course to go car shopping with my wife. The car radio has a graphic that tells me the outside temp and it was 92 then.

On the way home in the new car, the thermometer in it said it was 95 out... I get tired just thinking about it, but I'm playing tomorrow morning around 9:30 after I get in a couple hours of nice quiet work in an empty office.

Every year, we have some tourist die from spending too much time outside and not hydrating themselves well enough. You have to be careful!

LOL. Tell me about it. I spend quite a bit of time in Miami, and coming from Los Angeles (always in the 70 - 85 degree cool breeze and dry heat weather), I still never get to the humidity in Miami. I spend alot of time in Atlanta as well, and it's very Humid there, but nothing like Miami!
