Been lurking here for a few weeks and thought I'd finally join and maybe participate a little.
Hung up the clubs a dozen years ago to pursue a new career path that put horrific demands on my time. Retired a few years ago, and now at the tender age of 60, decided to (literally) scrub the years off the clubs and give this game another shot last month.
Pretty depressing (re)debut, but thanks to a lot of good discussion in the "Golf Tips" section, and a few of RingerPro's vids, I'm now hitting straight and pretty consistent. "Aim" still needs a little work, but I usually manage to keep the ball in the same county as my intended target.

Distance is a serious disappointment now. Where I used to drive a solid 240, I'm now down to (a consistent) 190. Strength is still good, but I've obviously lost a lot of flexibility (and technique).
In the bag: Driver is a circa 1993 molded graphite model, with graphite shaft. Rest of the bag is a custom built in ~1986 set, 1, 3, 5 persimmon woods (yes, my woods are made of -- wood), and 2 - SW cavity-back irons. New toy is a Ram 2-ball style putter. No plans to update the clubs for now. These clubs are my benchmark, so to speak, and I want to see how much of my game I can recover before I resort to technology to do it for me.
Bottom line is that I'm having fun being out on the course again. You guys all understand the "whys"....
