Clones?

Does anyone here use clones? I hear a lot of good things about them, as long as you choose one with a decent reputation. Would like to hear some first hand reviews if you all have any.

I really like the Callaway Fusion irons, and the Grand Hawk clones are $79 for 3-PW. The Pinemeadow's are $229. Bomber for $129. The $79 ones kinda scare me, but the Pinemeadow ones look very nice. Used I'm looking around $500 for a set of real Fusions. So it would be great if the clones worked out.

Thanks!

I have been playing some clones of the Nike Slingshot OSS's for about a year and I love them. I have never hit the real thing so I can't give a good comparison but I can hit the clones long and straight so I guess that's all that matters. I do slice on occasion or hit it fat, but that's my fault, not the club's. I am a complete club groupie. Nothing makes me happier than buying a golf club. Even if it's a 20 dollar hybrid from Wal Mart. So sometimes I think of getting a name brand set of irons, but I can't imagine hitting them that much better than these clones. ( I hit my pitching wedge 140 yards over water, once)

Custom golf clubs, discount golf, styles similar to Nike Slingshot, turbo power v91, Bomber Golf - Peacock Golf Products, Inc.

That's the link to the clubs I have. 1/2 and inch over with two extra wraps of tape. I have big mits.

Man, you could probably melt them down and make money I might just give those a try. I'm kinda partial to the x-16 or x-18 right now. I'll try the slingshot tonight and see how it works. If it's any good I'll pick those bad boys up.

I have had one clone club in my bag. A driver, dead ringer for the Titleist 983K. It is a solid driver. My buddy has the 983K and I have hit his, he has hit mine and there is no difference in sound, and distance.
Some clones are better than others. You get what you pay for.

I've got a PineMeadow Command 4 Hybrid (similar to Taylormade Dual TP, with two adjustable weights) It's pretty good (and well worth the $30), but I think I prefer the Adams A2 or A2 OS hybrid over it. I haven't compared it to the Taylormade it's imitating though.

My other clubs were custom built by my uncle, and they perform well (see specs below on my sig file). However, I did notice recently that his shafts are about 1/2" shorter than standard. I think I could use a little more length in them.

Cheers,
-T

irons

I have the Paragon x600 Hybrid Iron set. I look and react alot more like a regular iron than most hybrids. They feel very solid when you hit them and are very forgiving. They come 3 thru pw and cost $400.

I play the real Nike OSS and love them too.

I used to play a callaway clone for years and thought it was great. Nothing wrong with a clone.

I hear great things about Tom Wishon clubs too.... But not sure about his prices. Although they must be better than the big name brand guys. Maybe someone on this forum can talk about Tom Wishon's clubs.
