I'm looking to buy a new iron set and upon trying out some different sets at the driving range inside ****'s Sporting Goods I've decided on the Taylor Made rac OS2 Irons. They've gotten good reviews from everywhere I've looked and they felt great when I swung them. I swung the steel ones. When I looked online to do some price comparisons, I found a graphite set for $499, which seems to be a great deal.

I've swung a few graphite clubs before and I liked the lightweight feel to them but I'm not sure if they're for me. This is my first decent set of clubs. I'm coming from a set of Allied clubs that probably cost $100 10 years ago.

Sorry for the story but I'm just interested in peoples opinions of graphite clubs as compared to steel. I figure, if I decide to go with the graphite, I should go with a stiff flex, so I'm not going too far too fast from the steel shafts I've been hitting for years. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi Dave

Before you make the switch from the steel to graphite, make sure you go and try them in a driving range.

When I tried a friends set of graphite irons on your course they felt uncomfortable and I really couldnt get on with them.

Try before you buy!
