Recommendations on Forged iron sets

I have been looking at iron sets and typically like the look of the forged sets better. So far, I like Ben Hogan's Apex 50, Cleveland CG1, Nike foged blades, Mizuno MP-32, MP-37, or MP-67, Titleist forged 695 MB or forged 660, and Pursuit M510. Has anybody tried any of these or heard anything about one over another?

I was doing some research on these and saw where it was stated that forged are not as easy to hit as other irons? Is this true? And also, Is the Nike forged blades easier to hit than the others? Anybody know?

I think the confusion there is that "blades" are not as easy to hit as cavity back clubs. Forged irons have pretty much been synonymous with blades, but with the newer forgings coming out like the Mizuno line, I think you are going to be seeing easier to hit forged irons.

I just talked to a man at one of the golf shops and he said that Adams Idea would be more of what I need as a beginner.

Have you looked at the Hogan Pros? Or the new Nike CCI FOrged irons? Those are bothed seriously nice clubs, if your looking to get serious in the sport. If not, then the Adams will work fine. You might also be interested in a Hybrid Iron set, Adams sells them.

I did take a look at Hogans and Nike CCI. However, I really didn't care for them as much as the Adams hybrid iron set. Plus, I think the Nike CCI forged would be harder to hit anyways. The golf shop said forged are for those can hit the sweet spot every time. I'm not at that level yet. I'd have alot of hits going elsewhere.

I still think there is a little confusion going on here. Forged is a process, you can have a forged blade, a forged cavity back, a forged blah blah blah and so on and so on. A club being forged does not make it harder to hit. A club being small and unforgiving makes it hard to hit. Don't mix the two up; don't want you having a bad taste in your mouth about the word "forged" as it is actually a preferred process for making clubs. The huge difference with forged and cast clubs is $$$$$

Assuming that you are talking about forged blades, I suggest Mizuno MP-33 or Cleveland CG1. MP-33 has more workability and crisp feel while CG1 got softer feel and little more forgiving. Though in general, blades are for low HC players(10 or below). You won't gain distance in most cases nor the forgivingness, just the workability of ball flights IMO.
